The industrial process

Furniture COTOPAXI, forest company and wood industry produces high quality boards for domestic and international markets.

Furniture COTOPAXI plant is the largest industrial logging in the country. Their products are of three types:

-          Fibreboard (MDF)

-          Chipboard (particle)

-          Pine sawn timber

The wood used in each of these areas correspond respectively to 65, 27 and 8 percent.

The first procedure undergone by is debarking logs. This process is done manually for parts of larger diameter, but the rest is done with machines, a rotating drum and other drum or basket of knives. Wood for chipboard tolerates certain content of bark, but that will be used on MDF board should be almost completely clean.
