We believe in supporting sports and a healthy lifestyle: on November 20 and November 21, 2010  the 6th edition of the Tour of COTOPAXI Mountain Bike Race was sponsored and supported by COTOPAXI.

2 days of the biggest mountain bike adventure in Ecuador. 200 teams of 2 members were measured in the demanding route of approximately 140km of riding the Vuelta al Cotopaxi between 3000 and 4100 meters above sea level.

 This year, as the previous editions, the challenging race route crosses through our plantations. These forests are part of the company´s sustainable reforestation that helps protect the environment through carbon sequestration and reducing pressure on native forests. Additionaly the plantations help recover degraded soils, regenerate ecosystems, improve the scenic beauty and provide a refuge for wildlife in the area.

In the words of the organizers: "The spirit of the race is to create a space where cyclists share, work together and enjoy a challenging competition but at the same time allow them to enjoy and appreciate natural areas." "We want to promote and protect the unique scenery and landscapes that make up the Cotopaxi and its surroundings so we can continue enjoying them for many more years . Each participant of the Tour of Cotopaxi is responsible for looking around the path and "leaving no trace."
