PRODUCT CLASSIFICATION AND SPECIFICATIONS

COTOPAXI MDF STANDARD

It is a medium density board for indoors, manufactured with wooden fibers of Radiata Pine. These fibers are combined with a resign synthetic adhesive then pressed at high pressure and temperature. These boards can be veneered with decorative wooden foils, melamine and decorative papers.

With an average density of 620 ± 5% Kg/m3, MDF Standard boards are produced with Formaldehyde Urea based resign adhesives and comply the following international norms: Euro MDF Board MDF Industry Standard, Part 1: Generalities; Part 2: General Requirements for Purpose Boards, EMB/IS-I: 1997 and EMB/IS-II: 1997.

A permanent control of formol emission and content are performed in order to comply with norm EMB/IS-I: 1997.

The following board types are manufactured under these specifications:

COTOPAXI MDF Fibraplac® Raw MDF or without covering.
COTOPAXI MDF MELAMINE Durafibra® MDF covered with decorative melamine.
COTOPAXI VENEERED MDF Madefibra®

MDF with wooden foils.

COTOPAXI MDF LIGHT

Has lower density than the MDF Standard. This reduces its weight and makes it easier for manipulation and transportation while keeping appropriate physical-mechanical properties to guarantee a good ductility degree and aptitude for use.

With an average density between 500 and 550 Kg/m3, MDF Light boards are produced with Formaldehyde Urea based resign adhesives and comply the following international norms: Euro MDF Board MDF Standard Industry, Requirements for Light MDF and Ultralight MDF, EMB/PS/LIGHT: 1998.

A permanent control of formol emission and content are performed in order to comply with norm EMB/IS-I: 1997.

The following board types are manufactured under these specifications:

Cotopaxi MDF Light Fibraplac® Raw MDF or without covering.
Cotopaxi MDF Light Melamine Durafibra® MDF with decorative melamine covering.
Cotopaxi Veneered light MDF Madefibra® MDF with wooden foils covering.

COTOPAXI MDF RH

A higher humidity resistant MDF Standard board. MDF RH is manufactured with Radiata Pine fibers combined with resin, pressed at high pressure and temperature. In addition, these boards can be veneered with melamine.

A Melamine Urea Formol resin MUF adhesive is used for its production complying with quality norms classified as V100, which grants a high resistance to humidity. MDF RH board complies with the following norms Euro MDF Board MDF Industry Standard, EMB/IS-II: 1997, part 4.2; and the French norm NFB 51-263.

The following board types are manufactured under these specifications:

COTOPAXI MDF RH Fibraplac RH® MDF Raw or without covering, for use indoors, humidity resistant.
COTOPAXI MDF MELAMINE RH Durafibra RH® MDF With melamine papers humidity resistant.
